🏥 NIMHANS organizes event for World Stroke Day

Observing World Stroke Day on October 29, NIMHANS conducted a slew of awareness events.

Story so far: Under the Karnataka Brain Health Initiative (KaBHI), NIMHANS organized various screening clinics in Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, and Kolar to commemorate World Stroke Day, which was marked on October 29. On Saturday, almost a thousand people were checked.

  • Many events, including training programmes for nurses and other staff, an e-poster competition, a poster exhibition, and other awareness initiatives, were organised throughout the month.
  • Four videos in Kannada about stroke awareness and a stroke awareness booklet were released.

Facilities at NIMHANS: With a dedicated 24-bed unit for acute and chronic stroke care and management, NIMHANS is a hospital that is prepared for strokes. It provides round-the-clock therapies and procedures, including acute stroke interventions like intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy, with state-of-the-art infrastructure and advanced neuroimaging equipment.
