The Yelenahalli Lake was restored with the help of the participation of the neighbourhood community and BBMP.
Story so far: A resident claimed that a few years ago, there was no pathway around the lake and sewage was drained into it. After numerous demands for the BBMP to commence lake rejuvenation projects, the project to restore the lake finally got underway last year.
- Entry of sewage into the lake was restricted post the restoration process of the lake.
- External fencing around the lake has also been done.
Resurrected lake: The combined efforts of the BBMP and residents of the area have led to the restoration of the lake. As many as 65 bird species have been spotted at the lake over the past four years. The scope for the plantation of fruit-bearing trees around the lake is also ample.
