Indiranagar’s residents are dusty from the BWSSB’s ongoing pipe replacement work.

Story so far: The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has been replacing old underground drainage (UGD) pipes in Indiranagar. Their incessant digging of roads has bothered several residents.

  • The problem is that the BWSSB contractors have dug up eight crossroads at once in the residential area, leaving little to no room to venture out with their vehicles.
  • Autorickshaw drivers refuse to come to the area. The dust from the digging settles inside homes nearby.

BWSSB’s response: An engineer at the sewage board reports that they undertook all measures to fast-track the pipe replacement. They are optimistic they will finish the job soon and restore the roads to good condition.
