The Chennai Metro and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have teamed up to offer commuters several incentives.
What’s it about? As the Indian Premier League (IPL) is underway, the Chennai Metro wanted to make things easier for fans with a slew of incentives like free rides and screening of matches at some Metro stations. It’s a bid to encourage fans to use public transport to get to the Chepauk stadium.
- Fans can use their match tickets for entry on match days. By scanning the QR code on the tickets, they can travel to the Government Estate station, the closest to the stadium, and take the feeder bus to Chepauk.
- All metro train services during match days will be extended by 90 minutes. At the Nandanam, Vadapalani, Wimco Nagar, Thirumangalam, and Central Metro stations, the matches will be live-streamed on large LED screens.
Who said what? CSK CEO KS Viswanathan said partnering with the Metro will ensure fans can travel hassle-free. Chennai Metro CMD MA Siddique appreciated CSK for participating in this initiative to promote public transport.
