- The government has secured 60 acres and is seeking an additional 40 acres from the Revenue Department for the project.

🔭 Lunar Radio Telescope ‘Pratush’
Researchers from Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, collaborate with ISRO to develop ‘Pratush,’ a radio telescope for lunar orbit.

A team from Bengaluru’s Raman Research Institute (RRI), in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is working on ‘Pratush,’ a radio telescope designed to study the far side of the Moon. This one-metre aluminium payload, weighing less than 100 kg, is part of an ambitious project to explore the early universe’s cosmic dawn by detecting signals from the first stars and galaxies.
- Pratush is planned to be first tested in low Earth orbit (LEO) for sensitivity assessment before proceeding to a circular lunar orbit focusing on the Moon’s far side.
- The telescope aims to unveil the history of the universe post-Big Bang, specifically targeting the era when the first stars formed and the nature of their light.
No launch date: As the project progresses from the drawing board to the development of the flight model, the researchers, led by principal investigators Saurabh Singh and Mayuri Rao, are cautious about speculating on a launch date due to the extensive testing and space qualification required.
🏁 Indian Supercross Racing League Finale
