MegaPixxel facility: Bengaluru-based space startup Pixxel has inaugurated MegaPixxel, a 30,000-square-foot spacecraft manufacturing facility. This facility is designed to produce a constellation of hyperspectral earth imaging satellites, which will significantly enhance global observation capabilities.
- The facility can simultaneously manufacture over 20 satellites.
- It aims for a rapid turnaround time of six months per satellite.

🌷 Lalbagh’s Republic Day Flower Show
Lalbagh Botanical Garden is set to host a themed flower show.
What’s it about? The Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru is set to host the Republic Day flower show from January 18 to 28. Themed around ‘Vishwaguru Basavanna and Vachana Sahitya’, the show will feature a mix of cultural and literary elements, showcasing Karnataka’s horticultural excellence.
- It will be inaugurated by dignitaries including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
- The event will also include competitions like vegetable carving and flower arrangement, with a highlight being the floral replicas of Anubhava Mantapa and statues of Vachana writers.
More details: Competitions are scheduled for January 20, with prizes to be distributed on January 27. The show expects around 10 lakh visitors over its 10-day duration.
🛵 River’s first store in Bengaluru
River launches its first electric vehicle showroom in Bengaluru.
Indie electric scooter: Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer River has inaugurated its first retail outlet in JP Nagar. The 3,400 sq. ft. River Store displays the Indie electric scooter, along with accessories and merchandise, and features an integrated service centre.
- Launched in February 2023, the Indie scooter boasts a 6.7 kW motor and a range of 120 km in Eco mode.
- The Indie scooter offers features like a high-contrast colour display, USB ports, and reverse parking assist.
More stores in the pipeline: River has delivered over 100 units of the Indie e-scooter so far. River’s Co-Founder and CEO, Aravind Mani, emphasised the store as part of a customer-first strategy, planning expansion to over 100 cities in two years.
