Bengaluru tech park mural celebrates diverse gender identities.

What’s it about? RMZ Ecoworld, a tech park in Bengaluru’s Bellandur area, has transformed an underpass into a vibrant art space advocating for gender inclusivity. This initiative, a collaboration between Aravani Art Project and Brookfield Properties, features artwork by 13 transgender artists.

  • The project titled ‘Naavu Iddhivi,’ meaning ‘We Exist,’ showcases 16 personas, each reflecting real stories and challenges beyond gender binaries.
  • Poornima Sukumar, founder of The Aravani Art Project, emphasises the ‘Better Together’ philosophy.

Art for change: This year marks the eighth anniversary of the Aravani Art Project, which has used art as a tool for social change since its first project in 2016.

🏢 Metro influences realty

Bengaluru’s expanding metro network reshapes real estate dynamics.

What’s it about? Bengaluru’s metro connectivity, particularly the Purple Line, is significantly influencing the city’s real estate market. Homebuyers increasingly prioritise proximity to metro stations for convenient commuting. This trend is shifting the focus from saturated central areas to new real estate hotspots along metro lines.

  • Real estate development is moving towards ‘Walk to work’ and ‘Transit Oriented Development’ models.
  • The metro’s reach to IT hubs and other city parts is creating new residential and commercial zones.

Increase in prices: Experts note that areas like Jayanagar and Indiranagar, well-connected by the metro, are still in demand, but the expansion is opening up new choices for buyers. The development along metro corridors is not only easing commuting but also pushing up property prices and rental values in Bengaluru.

This collaboration seeks to address the care gap from solution development to market delivery, focusing on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) like cancer, cardiology, and neurology.

  • Joint efforts will include basic and applied science, product development, and training.
  • The collaboration will create a joint working committee for research and solution development.

Atmanirbhar MedTech: The alliance aims to integrate science and engineering with clinical research, epitomising the “bench-to-bedside” approach. It also aligns with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, promoting indigenous MedTech innovation and manufacturing.
