The initiative aims to enhance sports facilities in the state capital, which currently lacks multi-sport arenas apart from the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

  • The government has secured 60 acres and is seeking an additional 40 acres from the Revenue Department for the project.
  • The proposed sports city will feature a well-equipped stadium, consolidating various sports disciplines under one roof, and will be developed in partnership with private players or through government funding.

🔭 Lunar Radio Telescope ‘Pratush’

Researchers from Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, collaborate with ISRO to develop ‘Pratush,’ a radio telescope for lunar orbit.

What’s it about? A team from Bengaluru’s Raman Research Institute (RRI), in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is working on ‘Pratush,’ a radio telescope designed to study the far side of the Moon. This one-metre aluminium payload, weighing less than 100 kg, is part of an ambitious project to explore the early universe’s cosmic dawn by detecting signals from the first stars and galaxies.

  • Pratush is planned to be first tested in low Earth orbit (LEO) for sensitivity assessment before proceeding to a circular lunar orbit focusing on the Moon’s far side.
  • The telescope aims to unveil the history of the universe post-Big Bang, specifically targeting the era when the first stars formed and the nature of their light.

No launch date: As the project progresses from the drawing board to the development of the flight model, the researchers, led by principal investigators Saurabh Singh and Mayuri Rao, are cautious about speculating on a launch date due to the extensive testing and space qualification required.


🏁 Indian Supercross Racing League Finale

The Season One finale of the Ceat Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) moves to Bengaluru due to logistical challenges in Delhi.
