The concept of play gyms for kids has become popular as centres for fun and holistic development.

What’s it about? Beyond malls, the movies, and the beach, there aren’t many options for parents to take their kids for fun and social interactions. Here’s where play gyms have become popular. These recreational centres allow kids to play and focus on their physical, mental, and social growth.

  • The recently launched Tiny Tumbles in Adyar is one such facility. It’s designed for kids aged 1 to 12, where the basics of gymnastics are taught, and kids can acquire skills that will benefit them in any sport.
  • Another centre called Kartwheel is one of the oldest play gyms in the city. It caters to kids between ages 1 and 7. It has rope slides, play sets, and toys. The kids are allowed to explore each attraction on their own.

Overall development: The concept of these centres is to encourage kids to play, learn, and develop certain skills at a young age. It’s a chance for them to move away from their gadgets and screens at home.

  • College students find it difficult to access the latest books since they’re expensive. Those in demand are also available only in limited stock.
  • There’s a facility where people can submit requests for specific books. It gets about 30 such requests each month. The library is in the process of fulfilling these requests.

Going online: With the popularity of online reading, the library will add about 4,000 e-books to its digital inventory. Most of these will cater to school students.
