  • Piyus Arya of Frangipani Culinary Expression was contacted by the Goethe Institut to showcase foods that Franz Kafka enjoyed. According to him, the landscape has evolved. The workshops have become more detailed, and more men have taken an interest.
  • Chocolatier Keshav Krishna’s workshops have participants go hands-on in making a variety of chocolates in different shapes and patterns. It’s a way for people to use their imagination and explore their creativity.

The Chennai Corporation and the CMDA have identified six roads to widen to facilitate a smoother traffic flow.

What’s it about? The identified roads will be widened by 8 to 15 feet to help traffic flow. The selected roads include sections of LB Road, New Avadi Road, Paper Mills Road from Perambur to Kolathur, RK Salai from Marina Beach to Gemini Circle, Cooks Road, and Perambur Barracks Raod from Purasawakkam to Perambur.

  • The Chennai Corporation has already begun talking to private property owners for land acquisition. At LB Road, RK Salai, and Perambur Barracks Road, the work will take longer since they need the metro to hand over once their work is complete.
  • A consultant has been appointed to survey the width of the existing roads and determine the necessary expansion limits. First up will be RK Salai near the Mylapore junction.

Necessary for the future: The widening of these roads will not only help ensure a smoother flow of traffic, it’ll also help pave the way for four-lane flyovers in the future.
